Why Was Silhouette Killed Watchmen?

On March 6th, 2009, the world was introduced to the character of Silhouette in the hit movie Watchmen. She was a mysterious and powerful figure whose ultimate goal was to help save the world from nuclear destruction. Unfortunately, her efforts were in vain as she was killed by the villain of the film, Ozymandias.

Silhouette’s death has left fans with many questions: why did Ozymandias kill her? What was his motive?

The most likely explanation for why Ozymandias killed Silhouette is because he saw her as a threat to his plan. Throughout the course of the movie, Ozymandias had developed an elaborate plan to end global conflict and bring peace to the world by making people fear a fake alien invasion.

This plan required secrecy and absolute control over information so that nobody could discover his true intentions.

Silhouette had become aware of Ozymandias’ true identity and his plans and had decided to take action against him. She had been working with Nite Owl II and Silk Spectre II to uncover evidence that would expose Ozymandias’ scheme. This posed a great threat to his plans, so he decided it was necessary for him to take action against her in order to protect himself.

Ozymandias also saw Silhouette as a symbol of hope for humanity, which made her death even more tragic. By killing her, he not only eliminated a potential threat but also extinguished any hope for a better future for mankind. He wanted people to feel despair and hopelessness in order for them to accept his plan as their only solution.

Conclusion:

Ozymandias killed Silhouette mostly out of fear that she posed a threat to his plans and out of wanting people to feel despair so they would accept his solution as their only option. Her death had tragic consequences as it symbolized the loss of hope for humanity.
