Which Silhouette Blade Cuts Cardstock?

Cardstock is a type of paper that is thicker and more durable than standard printer paper. It is often used to make cards, scrapbook pages, and other creative projects. The right Silhouette blade can make creating your projects much easier and more accurate.

The Silhouette brand offers several different types of blades that can be used with their cutting machines. Each blade has its own purpose, so it’s important to choose the one that will work best for your project.

Standard Blade

The most common type of Silhouette blade is the standard blade, which comes with all Silhouette machines. This blade is great for cutting through cardstock up to 0.8 mm thick. It also works well for cutting through vinyl and other thin materials.

Deep Cut Blade

The deep cut blade has a sharper point than the standard blade, making it ideal for thicker materials like chipboard and foam core board. It can also be used to cut through cardstock up to 2 mm thick.

Rotary Blade

The rotary blade is perfect for fabrics like cotton and felt as well as thin materials such as tissue paper and vellum. It cannot be used to cut through cardstock.
