Standard Blade
The most common type of Silhouette blade is the standard blade, which comes with all Silhouette machines. This blade is great for cutting through cardstock up to 0.8 mm thick. It also works well for cutting through vinyl and other thin materials.
Deep Cut Blade
The deep cut blade has a sharper point than the standard blade, making it ideal for thicker materials like chipboard and foam core board. It can also be used to cut through cardstock up to 2 mm thick.
Rotary Blade
The rotary blade is perfect for fabrics like cotton and felt as well as thin materials such as tissue paper and vellum. It cannot be used to cut through cardstock.
