How Do You Tie Dye With Cricut?

Tie-dyeing is an age-old craft that has been around for centuries. It’s a fun, creative way to express your personality and add some interesting elements to your wardrobe or home decor. With the help of Cricut, you can now create beautiful tie-dye designs in the comfort of your own home.

Cricut is a cutting machine that allows you to cut and design fabric, vinyl, paper and even leather. With Cricut, you can easily make custom tie-dye pieces in minutes.

All you need to get started is a Cricut machine and Cricut Design Space software.

The first step in creating a tie-dye design with Cricut is to choose the fabric that you would like to dye. Cotton fabrics are the best option as they absorb dye easily and hold the color well. Once you have selected the fabric, lay it out flat on a clean surface or cutting board.

Next, open up the Design Space software on your computer and select the design template for making a tie-dye pattern. You can customize this template by changing the size of the pattern or adding more colors. When you are happy with your design, save it to your device.

Now it’s time to attach your fabric onto the cutting mat and load it into the Cricut machine. Once loaded into the machine, select ‘fabric’ from materials menu and upload your saved tie-dye design from Design Space software into Criuct machine.

Then press ‘Go’ button in order for Cricut machine to cut out all pieces for tie-dye pattern according to saved design template.

Remove all pieces from cutting mat once finished.

Time for Dyeing:

Now comes an exciting part – dyeing! Fill multiple containers with dye of different colors according to your preferences; make sure containers are large enough so that each piece of cutout fabric fits properly into container.

Important:

Mix soda ash in warm water as per instructions given on soda ash package before adding dye powder into containers

.

.

Take each piece of cutout fabric one by one carefully and dip them in separate container filled with desired color dyes; again make sure each piece fits properly inside container; leave them inside container for 10 minutes so that dyes can be absorbed properly.

.

Once done, rinse all dyed pieces separately with cold water until water runs clear; then hang them out individually on clothesline or laundry rack so that excess water can be drained off from fabric; finally leave them outside or inside depending upon weather conditions until completely dry; after drying process is complete iron each piece separately using high heat setting.
