How Do You Apply Cricut Vinyl Decals?

Cricut vinyl decals are a great way to add a personal touch to your home. With the help of Cricut’s easy-to-use software and machine, you can create custom decals for walls, windows, furniture, and more. With so many creative possibilities, it can be hard to know where to start.

Preparing the Surface

Before applying Cricut vinyl decals, make sure the surface you’re applying them to is clean and dry. If there is any dirt or debris on the surface, it could interfere with the adhesive and cause your decal not to stick properly. You’ll also want to make sure that any old adhesive residue has been removed.

Cutting out the Decal

Once you’ve created your design in Cricut Design Space and chosen your vinyl material, you’re ready to cut out your decal. Make sure you’re using the correct blade for the material type you’ve chosen. Then load your mat into the machine and press “Go” – it will do all of the cutting for you!

Applying Transfer Tape

Once your decal has been cut out, it’s time to apply transfer tape. Transfer tape helps keep all of your pieces together as one unit when you move them from the mat onto their final destination. Place a piece of transfer tape over top of your cutout design and use a burnishing tool or credit card to rub over it so that it adheres securely.

Peeling off Backing Paper

Now that your decal is covered in transfer tape, peel off its backing paper – this will leave just the transfer tape with your design on top. Make sure that none of your pieces have come off during this process.

Positioning Your Decal

.When positioning your decal in its final spot, take care not to move it around too much as this could cause air bubbles or wrinkles in the vinyl. Once in place press firmly with a squeegee or credit card (or both) until all air bubbles are gone.

Applying Cricut vinyl decals is an easy process when done correctly – all you need are some basic tools and materials like transfer tape and a squeegee or credit card. Simply prepare the surface where you plan on applying the decal; then cut out and apply transfer tape; peel off backing paper; position in place; then press firmly until no air bubbles remain.
