How Do I Trace a Color Image in Silhouette Studio?

Tracing a color image in Silhouette Studio is a great way to get creative and start making interesting designs with your Silhouette machine. If you have never used the software before, it can be intimidating, but with a few simple steps, you can easily trace any color image.

The first step in tracing an image in Silhouette Studio is to open the software and select the image you want to trace. You can do this by clicking on the “File” tab at the top of the screen and then selecting “Open” from the drop-down menu. Choose your desired image and it will appear on your work area.

Once your image is loaded into Silhouette Studio, you will need to select it by clicking on it once. This will bring up a menu of options for working with your selected image.

Now, click on the “Trace” button located near the top of the screen. A new window will appear.

In this new window, you will see several different options for tracing your chosen image. Make sure that Color Photo is selected as your tracing option and then click “Trace” once more. This will bring up another set of options for adjusting your tracing settings.

Now that your tracing settings are ready to go, click “Trace” one last time to begin tracing your color image. Depending on the size of your image, this process may take some time so be patient! Once the trace is complete, you should see a new outline of your original color photo inside of Silhouette Studio.
