The Silhouette Cameo 3 is the latest version of the popular Silhouette cutting machine line. This model has several upgrades from its predecessor, including the ability to now connect to Bluetooth.
While this new feature may seem intimidating at first, it’s actually quite simple to get up and running. Here’s how to successfully connect your Silhouette Cameo 3 to Bluetooth:
Step 1: Make Sure Your Device is Compatible
Before attempting to connect your Silhouette Cameo 3 to Bluetooth, you should make sure that your device is compatible with the cutting machine. The Cameo 3 supports most Android and iOS devices, though there are exceptions – be sure to check if your device is supported before attempting a connection.
Step 2: Download the Software
In order for your Cameo 3 to be able to connect via Bluetooth, you’ll need the latest version of the Silhouette software installed on your computer. The latest version can be downloaded for free from their website.
Step 3: Activate Bluetooth on Your Device
Once you have the software installed, you’ll need to ensure that Bluetooth is activated on your device. Depending on your operating system and model, this may vary slightly – but in general it can be found in Settings > Network or Settings > Connections.
Step 4: Enable Bluetooth on Your Cameo 3
Next, you’ll need to enable Bluetooth on your Cameo 3 by pressing and holding down both the arrow keys and power button at the same time until a message appears on screen indicating that Bluetooth has been enabled. If successful, a blue LED light will turn on.
Step 5: Connect Your Device
At this point you should be able to find your Cameo 3 in the list of available devices when searching for a new connection in settings. Select it and enter in any necessary security information before officially connecting.
