If you’re a crafting enthusiast, you’ve likely heard of the Cricut Maker – the most advanced cutting machine from Cricut. It has all the features of the other Cricut machines, plus more.
But what makes the Maker stand out is its ability to connect to your computer and cut out designs on your computer screen with precision and accuracy. So how do you go about connecting your Cricut Maker to your computer?
The first step is to make sure that you have all the hardware and software needed for a successful connection. The Cricut Maker requires a USB cable and either Windows or Mac computers with a USB port in order for it to be able to connect. In addition, you will need to install either the Design Space app or Adobe Illustrator plug-in depending on which type of machine you are using.
Once you have everything in place, it’s time to make the connection. Start by plugging in one end of the USB cable into your computer’s USB port and then plugging in the other end into your Cricut Maker’s power port. Then turn on both devices, open up either Design Space or Adobe Illustrator, and select “Connect Machine” from within whichever program you are using.
If using Design Space:
1. Select “Connect Machine” from within Design Space.
2. Follow instructions on-screen until your machine is connected.
3. Once connected, select “Create New Project” from within Design Space.
4. Follow instructions on-screen until your project has been created.
5. Finally, start designing! You can use SVG files or design from scratch using shapes from within Design Space.
If using Adobe Illustrator:
1. Select “Connect Machine” from within Adobe Illustrator.
