Gianni Versace House, also known as Casa Casuarina, is a luxurious mansion located in Miami Beach, Florida. The mansion was built in 1930 and was originally known as The Amsterdam Palace. However, it became more famous in the 1990s when the world-renowned fashion designer, Gianni Versace purchased the property and made significant renovations to it.
The three-story mansion features 10 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a swimming pool, a rooftop observatory, and an open-air courtyard. The interior of the mansion is adorned with exquisite artwork and ornate furnishings that reflect Versace’s unique style.
Unfortunately, Gianni Versace was tragically murdered outside his mansion in 1997. The property remained vacant for several years until it was purchased by Peter Loftin in 2000.
Peter Loftin bought the house for $19 million and spent millions more renovating the property to its former glory. He converted part of the mansion into a luxury hotel known as The Villa By Barton G., which offers guests an opportunity to experience the opulence of Casa Casuarina.
The hotel features ten suites that are each named after a famous designer or celebrity who once stayed at the property. Guests can enjoy amenities such as a private balcony overlooking Ocean Drive or access to the luxurious swimming pool.
In addition to being a hotel, Casa Casuarina has also been used as a filming location for movies and TV shows such as “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story” and “Top Chef.”
While no one currently lives in Gianni Versace’s former home permanently, it continues to be a popular tourist destination for those who want to experience its rich history and luxurious accommodations.
In conclusion, while Gianni Versace House is not currently inhabited by anyone on a permanent basis, it remains an iconic landmark in Miami Beach that continues to attract visitors from all over the world. With its rich history and opulent furnishings, it’s no wonder why this mansion has captivated the world for decades.
