Did Rorschach Kill Silhouette?

In Watchmen, the original comic book series by Alan Moore, Rorschach is a vigilante who is willing to go to extreme lengths to fight crime. One of his most controversial acts was killing Silhouette, a fellow vigilante who was part of the same group as Rorschach. There has been much debate over whether this was justified or not, and there are valid arguments to be made on both sides.

On one hand, Silhouette could be seen as a threat to Rorschach’s mission. She had grown disillusioned with the idea of vigilantism and was willing to break laws in order to achieve her goals.

This could potentially have put Rorschach in danger if she had acted against him or his allies. In addition, her actions could have posed a risk to innocent people if she decided to Target them for her own ends.

On the other hand, killing Silhouette may have been an unnecessary act of brutality that went against the ideals that Rorschach himself stood for. Despite her flaws, Silhouette was still a human being who deserved some kind of justice rather than an execution-style murder. It could also be argued that killing her sent out a message that violence was an acceptable way of dealing with people who disagreed with him.

Conclusion: Ultimately, it is impossible to know for sure if Rorschach was right or wrong in killing Silhouette. It is up to each individual reader to decide whether or not they think he made the right decision based on their own interpretation of the character and situation.
