Silhouette holographic sticker paper is an amazing material to use with Cricut machines. It is a special type of vinyl that is made from a thin, clear film that has a holographic design printed on it.
The unique texture and shimmer of the holographic vinyl make it perfect for creating stunning designs for all types of projects.
Using Silhouette holographic sticker paper with your Cricut machine is easy, but there are a few steps you should follow to ensure your project turns out perfectly.
Step 1: Preparing Your Design
The first step in using your Silhouette holographic sticker paper with your Cricut machine is to prepare your design. You will need to open up the design in the software provided by Silhouette and adjust it so it fits within the space provided by the sticker paper. Once you have done this, you can save it as an SVG file and upload it into your Cricut Design Space.
Step 2: Cutting Your Design
Once you have uploaded your design into Design Space, you can now begin cutting it out using the Cricut. Make sure to select “Holographic Vinyl” as your material type in order for the machine to cut correctly. Place your vinyl onto a standard grip mat and load it into the Cricut machine.
Step 3: Weeding
Weeding is the process of removing any excess material from around the edges of your design that will not be used in your final project. This step is important since any excess material can interfere with how well the final product looks after being applied. Carefully remove any extra pieces with tweezers or an X-acto knife.
Step 4: Transferring
Once you have weeded all of the excess material from around your design, you are now ready to transfer it onto whatever surface you wish to apply it onto. To do this, use transfer tape over top of your design, pressing firmly so that all of the pieces adhere to the tape. Then carefully peel off the backing from behind and press down firmly onto whatever surface you wish to place them on.
Using Silhouette holographic sticker paper with a Cricut machine is easy and can create stunning designs for all sorts of projects! Follow these four steps – preparing and uploading your design, cutting it out with a Cricut machine, weeding away any excess material, and then transferring onto whatever surface desired – and you’ll be able to masterfully craft beautiful works of art!
